As is the case for humans, our pets are also impacted by the effects of diet and nutrition. Unlike humans, however, our pets have no control over their diets. They depend on us to provide them with quality food that meets their nutritional needs.

Pets that are affected by underlying health conditions may require dietary adjustments to better address their changing situation. Whether it’s weight gain brought on by decreased activity due to injury or surgery or other conditions such as diabetes or cancer, your pet’s dietary needs will change over the course of their lifetime. Making a few simple adjustments, such as by adding a supplement, can improve your dog’s quality of life and possibly prolong their life.

Check with your primary vet prior to discontinuing any prescribed medications or before administering new medications or supplements to avoid possible interactions.
