Kristen Gruca

Having spent most of here life around the concrete jungles of Chicago and New York City, Kristen moved to Colorado seeking adventure in the mountains. While fostering dogs in between long international travels for her job in sports television production, Kristen met her soulmate, Eiko, a 6 month old German Shepherd puppy at the time, and her whole life changed. She’s since left her Emmy award winning career in television to pursue her passion of working with dogs full time.

Since 2017, Kristen has been studying and starting to build a client base as a games based dog trainer who focuses on building personality concepts: resiliency, optimism, and calmness as foundations for creating transformative change in dogs with behavior struggles. Kristen found CRCG after Eiko started having joint issues and became a patient. She was extremely impressed by the level of caring and education she received from the CRCG staff and joined the team with the goal of becoming a trainer with the Total Dog program. Her favorite part of the job is seeing how proud dogs are when they overcome their fears of the rec pool ramp and start swimming on their own for the first time.

When she’s not loving on dogs, Kristen enjoys cooking and spending her free time as a backpacking guide in the Grand Canyon, volunteering in mountain search and rescue with Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and Front Range Rescue Dogs, and as a snowboard instructor for Ignite Adaptive Sports.
